Alliance Events Director Earns Certified Corporate Event Planner Designation
Lynchburg, VA – September 3, 2025 – The Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance is proud to announce that Director of Events, Mercedies Ramstead, has successfully earned her Certified Corporate Event Planner (CEP) designation through Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) and Lovegevity.
The CEP certification is a nationally recognized credential that equips professionals with the skills to plan, design, and execute a wide range of corporate events, from large conferences and training sessions to recognition ceremonies and milestone celebrations.
“The program was incredibly detailed and provided a true, hands-on experience,” said Mercedies Ramstead, CEP. “From start to finish, it covered every aspect of event planning, giving me the chance to apply what I was learning in real-world scenarios. It gave me the confidence and tools I need to create meaningful, seamless events that deliver exceptional outcomes.”
Through this rigorous training, Ramstead mastered best practices in project management, budgeting, risk management, vendor sourcing, and event marketing. She also developed expertise in creating strategic event plans, building contingency strategies, and ensuring flawless execution for clients and participants alike.
With this certification, Ramstead is positioned to elevate the Alliance’s signature events and continue driving impactful connections across the region.
