LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- The Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance is launching the area's first Business Hall of Fame and Liberty's founder and president are among the first inductees.
The Hall of Fame will honor leaders who have impacted the region's business, industry, and the community.
Jerry Falwell, Sr. and Jerry Falwell, Jr. will join leaders like A. C. "Buzzy" Coleman Jr., Hal C. Craddock, and Shaun Spencer-Hester to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
"I'm truly honored that both my father and I will be inducted into the Lynchburg Business Hall of Fame,” Jerry Falwell said. “We fought so hard together to make Liberty University what it is today. The growth that we have seen since those days of financial distress is truly astounding. My father had already fought through 20 difficult years before I joined him in the fight for another 20 years. The challenge was too great to be completed in one person’s lifetime. I'm grateful to be president of this great university and humbled to be recognized for the positive impact we are having on the Lynchburg area's economy."
