Friends of the Lynchburg Public Library to Host Annual Shredding Event Fundraiser (Oct. 15)
Watch your old, outdated, legal and personal papers turned into confetti, and help your local library! On Tuesday, October 15, 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., the Friends of the Lynchburg Public Library will hold their bi-yearly shredding event at the Lynchburg Public Library’s Main Branch, 2315 Memorial Avenue. The event is sponsored by Davies and Davies Law Firm.
Everyone is invited to bring their personal, legal and tax papers for shredding. The cost is $10 per bag or box (cash or checks only). Staples and paper clips can be left attached, and the shredding is done immediately. The 1st Choice Shredding truck will be parked in the library’s side parking lot, and everyone who wants to participate can simply drive their vehicle up to the truck and hand their box or bag to a volunteer.
Afterward, attendees are invited to purchase food and/or beverages from The Happy Waffle food truck and browse the Used Book Sale Room located inside the library for books, DVDs and other items.
All funds raised from the shredding and book sale will go directly to supporting library programs such as the Summer Reading Program, winter and spring break programing for elementary to high school students and Downtown Branch special events and community partnerships.
