Lynchburg, VA — HumanKind Foster Care is thrilled to announce its Trunk or Treat returning for a second year. This free, family-friendly event will be on Saturday, October 25th, 2 p.m.- 4 p.m., at HumanKind Main Campus, 1903 HumanKind Way.
 
This exciting community celebration is designed with children and families in mind, featuring a spectacular lineup of decorated trunks, a free hayride, family photo booth, food trucks, and outdoor games. The event aims to raise awareness about the urgent need for foster families in the region while offering a fun-filled day for all ages.
 
Event highlights include:
Plenty of trunks for candy collection – Families can weave through the elaborately decorated cars, while collecting their stash of yummy treats.
Free hayrides – Experience the picturesque scenery of the HumanKind campus in the most beautiful season of the Blue Ridge Mountains – Fall.
Free family photo booth – Don’t miss this special moment to capture your fun family costumes.
 
“It’s always so fun to bring the community together to celebrate kids, kindness, and the power of family,” said Jamie Creasy, Executive Director for HumanKind Foster Care. “Our events are not only about fun — it’s about building awareness and support for the children in our care.”

Founded in 1903 as an orphanage, our organization has evolved to meet the needs of children and families in our community today. HumanKind’s statewide foster care network trains and supports parents to care for children and teens. In 2024, 212 children received 24-hour care in the homes of loving, specially trained foster parents.
